Sustainability

What does it mean?

Sustainability isn't just about the environment...it encompasses the growth a society will be able to

endure and thrive with over the long term, without compromising the well-being of current and future generations.

Supporting local businesses that add value to the community that surrounds them is what creates a sturdy foundation for those generations to come. Doing that in an environmentally conscious way is what secures a reduced environmental impact.

Essentially, sustainability is just a balancing act between the needs of the present and the future.

Hidden Benefits

Sustainable efforts aren't always visible on the surface

01

FSC Certified & Reclaimed Wood

Ensuring that all purchased lumber and wood products are sustainably and safely harvested is at the heart of what we do and who we work with.

Recycling cabinets is also a part of how we promote sustainable habits and reduce the burden on landfills. With customizable designs, we can seamlessly blend recycled doors, drawers, and face frames into any space while contributing to a cleaner, greener future.

03

Bulk Orders for Multiple Projects

Making bulk orders is our strategic approach to reducing our carbon footprint by minimizing the environmental impact associated with transportation and packaging.

By strategically consolidating multiple purchases into larger, single orders, we are helping our vendors decrease their frequency of shipments, thus lowering emissions from transportation vehicles and reducing waste generation.

02

Environmentally Conscious Flooring

LVP flooring is an extremely sustainable product for a plethora of reasons, all of which are why we constantly encourage its use:

  • Entirely made from recycled materials (vinyl scraps and  recycled bottles) - minimizing waste and virgin materials.

  • The manufacturing process of LVP consumes less energy compared to traditional flooring options like hardwood or ceramic tiles.

  • LVP flooring is durable and long-lasting, reducing the need for frequent replacements.

04

Locally-Sourced Materials and Services

100% of our materials and services are sourced right here in north Carolina, specifically in and around Scotland County.

By sourcing goods and services from nearby suppliers, we are not only reducing our carbon footprint associated with transportation, but are also supporting local businesses.

Domestic sourcing stimulates the local economy, promoting our community's resilience, vitality, and transparency with consumers in the area.
